  • A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi® network that has no restrictions and does not require a proxy to access the internet.
  • An internet connection is required when installing the app and creating your user account.
  • Know the password for the Wi-Fi® network.

The Yale Connect app is available only in Latin America and can be downloaded from Google Play for Android or the App Store for iOS.

NOT available for download in the US and Canada, nor on Google Play or the App Store.

Account Creation

  • Upon launch, the app will prompt you to complete your registration information.
  • Once you complete all the fields, you will receive an email to the account with which you registered.
  • Open the email and follow the account activation link.
  • A window will open in your browser informing you if the registration was successful.
  • Once this process is complete, return to the Yale Connect app and press "Finish" to begin pairing your devices.

Account Login

When you log in, the app will ask you to enter the email address you used to register for Yale Connect and your password. Remember to accept the Privacy Agreement.

Important note: Your mobile device must be connected via Wi-Fi® to the same network as the Yale Connect Hub, and the network must be connected to the internet throughout the installation process and when pairing new devices.

To link a Yale Connect Hub to the app, follow these steps:

1) Check the Wi-Fi network signal

The Yale Connect Hub requires an unrestricted 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network with no proxy required to access the internet. Before starting the linking process, make sure your mobile device (smartphone or tablet) has at least two bars of Wi-Fi signal where the Hub will be installed. If reception is poor, consider optimizing the installation by relocating your modem or using one with a longer range.

IMPORTANT: Your mobile device must be connected via Wi-Fi to your home network, and your network must have an internet connection throughout the linking process.

2) Link the device

  • Plug the Yale Connect Hub into power. The center LED should flash green or blue.
  • Open the Yale Connect app on your mobile device. If this is your first time using it, select "New Device" and add the Hub. The app will guide you step-by-step through creating a home and getting started. You can also add the Hub from the menu under "Homes & Devices."
  • The app will ask you to select your home Wi-Fi network and enter the corresponding key. This will link the Hub to your network.

IMPORTANT: Provide the correct Wi-Fi network key; otherwise, the Hub will not be able to link.

Once this process is complete, the Yale Connect Hub will be ready to link Yale devices or other Yale Connect-compatible devices. See our "Compatible Products" section.

IMPORTANT: If after linking you don't see the Hub in "Homes & Devices," the Wi-Fi network key may be incorrect. You'll need to put the Hub in "Connect Mode" and repeat the linking process.

To add Yale components to the Hub, go to the home screen and tap "New Device."

1) Connect Mode

This mode prepares the Hub to connect to the Wi-Fi network without unpairing devices already connected to it. To activate Connect Mode, follow these steps:

Step 1: Press the Hub's reset button (located on the back near the USB port) for 5 seconds.

Step 2: When you release the button, the center LED will begin to flash. You'll see a green light for the first-generation Hub, or a blue light for newer versions.

The Hub will remain visible in your Yale Connect account, and if it has paired devices, they will remain connected.

Step 3: To add the Hub again, log in to the Yale Connect app and follow these steps:

  1. Go to Menu > Homes & Devices > New Device.
  2. Select Pair Hub.
  3. The app will guide you step-by-step through the pairing process.

Once complete, the Hub will pair with all previously connected devices.

2) Factory Reset

This mode unpairs the Hub from the Wi-Fi network and removes all devices associated with it. This process can be done in two ways:

From the Yale Connect app:

  1. Go to Menu > Homes & Devices.
  2. Select the home where the Hub is located.
  3. Find the Hub and press the "Remove" icon.
  4. The Hub will be in Connect Mode, and the center LED will begin flashing green and/or blue.
  5. You will need to re-pair the Hub from the app.

Manually (reset button):

  1. Press the Hub's reset button for 10 seconds until a red light turns on.
  2. When you release the button, the center LED will begin flashing green and/or blue.
  3. The Hub will be visible in your Yale Connect account.
  4. From the app, go to Menu > Homes & Devices, select the home and the Hub, and press the "Remove" icon.

Important Note:

  • When performing a Factory Reset, all devices linked to the Hub will be unlinked.
  • All PIN codes stored in the locks linked to the Hub (except the Master PIN code) will be erased.
  • The locks cannot be operated remotely or locally; only via the Master PIN code.

To link a lock to your Yale Connect Hub, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Home > New Device.
  2. Select the type of device to link: Lock.
  3. Select the Home you want to add the lock to.
  4. Select the lock model.
  5. Then, select the Hub you want to link the lock to.
  6. Verify and validate with a short checklist that the device is ready to continue.
  7. Press Start and follow the steps in the tutorial for the lock.
  8. Wait until the app completes the linking.

Important Considerations:

  • User Manual: Each lock may have specific procedures. You must have the lock's user manual on hand to follow the steps correctly.
  • Master PIN: For digital locks, you will need it to begin linking.
  • Deleting PIN Codes: When linking or unlinking digital locks from the Hub, all previously stored PIN codes will be deleted from the lock's memory, except for the Master PIN.
  • Locking Mode: Digital locks must be in locking mode when you begin the pairing process. You can leave the door open, but make sure the deadbolt is facing outward to complete the pairing process successfully.

To pair a camera, follow these steps:

1) Check the Wi-Fi network signal

The camera requires an unrestricted 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network without the need for a proxy to access the internet. Before starting the pairing process, make sure your mobile device (smartphone or tablet) has at least two bars of Wi-Fi signal where the camera will be installed. If reception is poor, consider optimizing the installation by relocating your modem or using one with a longer range.

IMPORTANT: Your mobile device must be connected to your home Wi-Fi network via Wi-Fi, and your network must be connected to the internet throughout the pairing process. Wi-Fi cameras use ports 1935 (TCP) and 8883 (TCP) to establish the connection. If you are having trouble connecting the camera, make sure these ports are enabled on your network. You can check with your internet service provider to do this.

2) Pair the device

  • Plug the camera into power.
  • Open the Yale Connect app on your mobile device. If this is your first time using it, select "New Device" and add the camera. The app will guide you step-by-step through creating a home and getting started. You can also add the camera from the menu under "Homes & Devices."
  • The app will ask you to select your home Wi-Fi network and enter the corresponding key. This will link the camera to your network.

IMPORTANT: Provide the correct key for your Wi-Fi network; otherwise, the Hub will not be able to link.

Once this process is complete, the camera will be ready and a live video will appear.

From the Yale Connect app, you can view, edit, and delete all the devices linked to your home. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Menu > Homes & Devices.
  2. From here you can:
  • View the full list of devices linked to your home.
  • Locks linked to a Hub are listed below each Hub in the app.
  • Edit and delete already linked devices.
  • Add new devices and link locks.

Number of devices in the ecosystem::

  • One Yale Connect account can control up to 16 Hubs.
  • Each Hub can control up to 16 locks.

To access the camera's advanced settings, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Menu > Homes & Devices.
  2. Select the Home where the camera is located.
  3. Select the camera.
  4. Settings.

Within the settings, you can access: Information, Motion Detection, Image Adjustment, Storage, Format SD Card, Restart.

Motion Detection: To activate motion detection, select the area from which you want the detection to be captured, as well as the sensitivity. Save the changes you made. Then, return to the camera's Settings and make sure you have "Notifications" enabled. You will receive push notifications on your mobile device whenever there is a detection in the specified area.

Image Adjustment: From here, you can adjust the brightness, rotate, and/or mirror the image.

Images and Videos: To capture images and record videos from your Wi-Fi camera, you can go to the live feed and press the capture and record buttons. All files will be automatically saved to the app's gallery and on your mobile device.

Playback of recordings on SD card: The camera comes with a removable 32GB Micro SD card for local storage of video recordings.

To access local recordings:

  1. Go to the home screen and tap the camera you want to view. A bottom menu will appear.
  2. Select Recordings.
  3. Select the date and time you want to view.

Usage Logs allow you to view the status and events recorded by your home's devices on a specific date.

To access them, follow these steps:

  1. From the main menu, select "Usage Logs."
  2. Choose the home for which you want to view Usage Logs. You can also use the filter to select all devices.
  3. By default, the current Usage Logs will be displayed. If you want to view events from a specific date, you can select the date you prefer.

Yale Connect allows you to view events that occurred in the last 3 months from the viewing date.

  • Sending Information: From the viewing screen, you can send Usage Log information by email.
  • Web Access: You can also view Usage Logs by logging into your account through the Web Login.

Important Considerations: For Usage Logs to sync correctly, it is essential that the locks and the Yale Connect Hub have an internet connection.

From the Yale Connect app, you can manage permissions and access control for all linked locks. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Menu > Guests and Permissions.
  2. Tap the "New Guest" button..
  3. The app will ask you to complete the guest's details (name, email, etc.).
  4. Assign the corresponding device.
  5. Choose the type of access you want to grant:
    • App and lock keypad: The guest can access this device via Yale Connect or via the lock keypad (by granting a Lock PIN).
    • Lock keypad only: Guests can only access via the Lock PIN.
  6. Choose the type of permission you want to grant::
    • Permanent access: The guest can access at any time.
    • Recurring access: he guest will have access only on the selected days of the week and within the defined time range.
  7. Set expiration: You can assign a start and end date, or specify that it has no expiration date.
  8. Once you've assigned permissions and configured access, save the changes.

Modify or delete existing permissions: If you want to modify or delete a guest's permissions, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Menu > Guests and Permissions.
  2. In the list of existing users, select the guest whose permission you want to modify or delete.
  3. Swipe the card to the left to edit the guest, or swipe to the right to delete them.

Important Considerations: Digital vs. Electromechanical Locks

Digital locks have additional features that electromechanical locks don't, such as the ability to open with PIN codes and have automatic locking. Electromechanical locks do not have these features.

Yale Connect sends preconfigured notifications and alarms to your mobile device to keep you informed about activities in your home and on your devices. To access notifications and alarms, go to Menu > Notifications & Alarms.

Types of Notifications and Alarms: Notifications and alarms inform you about the following events:

  • Operations on your home locks (for example, opening or closing).
  • Low battery alerts on your locks.
  • Lock lock lockout (when the lock locks for any reason).
  • Home invitations from another user (when you are invited to a different home).
  • Master code changes (when the master code is changed).
  • Vandalism.
  • Motion detection (for cameras).

Requirements to receive push notifications: For push notifications to appear on your mobile device, they must be enabled in your operating system settings (iOS or Android). Additionally, your device must have an internet connection to receive notifications.

On the Profile screen, you can manage and modify your personal information, security options, and account settings.

  • Settings: This section displays the information you used to create your Yale Connect account, such as: first name, last name, email address, and language. You can also select your preferred language for using your Yale Connect account from the available options: English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
  • Change Password: You can edit the password you use to log in to the app.
  • Quick Unlock: You can enable the use of a PIN or biometric access to unlock the app, providing an additional layer of security.
  • Log Out: If you wish to log out, tap the "Log Out" button. This will only prevent you from seeing information from the app. To log back in, you only need to enter the email address and password you used when you registered. You will not lose any information uploaded to your account.
  • Delete Account: If you wish to delete your Yale Connect account, tap the "Delete Account" button. Deleting the account will erase all associated data, including: Homes, Devices, Usage Logs, and any other information stored in the account.

Effects of Deleting the Account: Hubs linked to the deleted account that have an internet connection will return to Factory Mode, which means: You will only be able to access the locks using the master code. The locks will be unlinked from the Hub, and guests will lose remote and local access.

IMPORTANT: Data from a deleted account is NOT recoverable.
